EMDR Therapy; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

I am EMDRIA-Certified in EMDR therapy, a distinction reflecting advanced training, clinical experience, and demonstrated competency beyond foundational EMDR training requirements. EMDRIA certification is widely regarded as the gold standard for EMDR practitioners and reflects my continued commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, and specialized clinical care. I have been trained in advanced EMDR protocols and topics.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, which proposes that the mind and nervous system are naturally oriented toward healing and integration. When experiences are overwhelming or chronically stressful, they may remain insufficiently processed and continue to affect present-day emotions, beliefs, relationships, and physical responses.

While EMDR is widely known for treating trauma and PTSD, it is also used to address anxiety, panic disorder, low self-esteem and negative core beliefs, addictions, self-sabotaging behaviors, phobias, and intimacy/ relational issues.

I work from an attachment-focused perspective and integrate relational, psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches with EMDR and verbal psychotherapy. My work is informed by contemporary understandings of trauma, defensive adaptations, attachment loss, and memory processing.
